NP Brijuni

The islands Brijuni next to the southwest coast of Istra have been declared a national park in 1983. They expand on a territory of 2700 hecres, and consist of 14 islands from which the biggest are Big and Small Brijun.NP Brijuni is an oasis of magnificent union of man, nature and animals.

On the islands there are almost 700 different types of plants, around 250 different types of birds. The mild mediterranean climate makes this place pleasant and good for everyone. In the national park one can find remains of old roman buildings.

While there one can take a tour with touristic trains and experience different types of natural beauty such as a safari park, Roman residential vila in the bay of Veriga and many other wonderful things. Next to the small harbor by the hotels Istra, Neptun and Karmen there is the small church of st. German from the 15th century.
