Pula

Pula is the biggest city in Istra, it lies in the southwestern area of the Istrian half island, in a well protected bay. Unlike the rest of the region it is well known for its mild climate, calm sea and untouched nature. It has a long tradition of wine making, fishing, ship building, tourism and it is a transit port both for air and sea travel.

The history of Pula goes million years back due to found remains of human settlements in the cave Sandalja in the vacinity of todays city. At ancient times, the city Pula was also well known for greek travelers. Afterwards in the time of the Roman empire the city was expanded to a population of 30 000 inhabitants. It was a big city of the Roman empire, and even today while visiting Pula one can find different remains from Roman times and the most spectacular one is the Roman colloseum. We recommend staying in Pula for a few days due to its beauty as well as taking the time and visiting nearby places that are also astonishing.
